Shorty

This makes me want to chop my hair off. She's beautiful.

Love it.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Hey there. Remember me? Some of you may have noticed my absence lately and some probably have not. I'm not trying to ignore anyone, that I can promise you. But I feel like a bit of a failure with the blog right now. I'm supposed to have a fashion blog and I don't even get dressed. Literally. Between both jobs this week (in which I wear uniforms to both) I work 70 hours. Yep. You read that right. While it's good that I have so many hours because we can get things paid off more quickly, it's also a strain. I'm grouchy when I get home which isn't fair to Matt, my sleep is seriously lacking and my inability to ever wear real clothes is driving me crazy. Not to mention my lack of exercise and quality food intake.

I haven't forgotten about you though. Oh no, I haven't. I miss blogging and I miss taking pictures of myself and shamelessly posting them on the Internet for the world to see. I hope soon I can do it more often. You can at least count on an outfit Sunday and hopefully Saturday as well seeing as how I don't work until 3pm. You might see a few changes on the blog, more posts relating to outfits and less related to me (which might be good?) which will be okay. Just know that I do miss the 43 people who like me on Facebook. And even those who read this and don't like me on Facebook. Until next time, I leave you with one lone picture from California. It was during the rehearsal. I bought a new dress, which coincidentally Kendi bought as well in a different color. We're pretty much twins now, right?

Sneak Peek

As you know, I was at one of my best friend's wedding this past weekend. It was rockin' and she was gorgeous. I thought I'd show you a sneak peek of the weekend (along with Megan from Meg & Kate Photography and Bre, the MOH). Our dresses were different color peaches, and I know it's not the entire dress, but eventually* you will see the entire dress. The necklaces and earrings were picked out by the bride, and we did our own hair and makeup. I would have more pictures to show you, but um, there's a possibility I left my phone in LA and it's being sent to me. It's not for sure though. I would never do something like that.**

Hooray! They're married!

*When I am allowed to show you more photos from the day of the wedding, I will. Promise!

**Yes. I did leave my phone in Bre's car. I miss it dearly.

Too Expensive Tuesday

This white blazer. I love. In fact, I love all white blazers right now and they are all too expensive. Someone please buy one so I can live vicariously through you, okay? Thanks!

Someday I will own one. Someday when I have a lot of money from winning the lottery or from doing the Total Money Makeover (which I am currently reading. It takes a lot of discipline to do it, but I should get "gazelle intense" like Matt so that I too can become wealthy and buy white blazers.)

Well, uh...

Dress: J. Crew, Shoes: Macy's, Watch: Fossil, Purse: Harvey's Seatbelt Bags
Necklaces: Assorted (Gran, mom, custom), Sunglasses: Burberry, Belt: Anthropologie

Decisions, decisions. Gran and MIL can't make up their mind

Hey guys! *Sheepish grin* I'm back from LA. The wedding was gorgeous, the bride was beautiful and the rest of the trip was lovely too. There was just one problem... I didn't get pictures taken of me. I know, I know... fail. I did however get pictures taken today! That's a positive, right? Matt's parents are in town, and while his father was in Dallas for work today, his mother is here and we spent the day in downtown Georgetown walking around. We also ate at Mighty Fine, got cupcakes at Galaxy Cupcakes, ate dinner at La Cocina and got frozen yogurt at The Yogurt Experience. Phew. I feel fat just typing it all out! And yesterday, we went to one of the best restaurants: Taste of Ethiopia. If you haven't been there go. Now. Seriously.

Tomorrow my MIL and I will go downtown to the boutiques, and then we are going out to dinner with the guys at Fogo De Chao. So much good food all around. I'll be back tomorrow night, pictures in tow to blog. However, Wednesday through Sunday I work 39.5 hours at Rudy's and 12 hours at Aqua-Tots, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. Another thing is that Matt's grandfather is barely hanging on, so we're trying to decide on whether or not I'll make the trip to Wisconsin for the funeral with Matt, or stay here. Our life is in limbo in that sense. So we will see, but I promise to try to not leave you hanging! Pinky promise even!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Top: Striped Shirt, Shorts: Target, Shoes: Macy's

Tomorrow I head to LA. Why? Oh, you know... no big reason. Only the fact that one of my oldest and best friends is getting married! Hooray! I am incredibly excited for her and can't wait to join in in the wedding festivities. While I'm there, I hope to get a chance to blog (if I can con someone into taking photos of me anyway). However, if I don't get a chance to, I will be back Sunday night with a post or two and will go from there. Tonight, however. I will be packing my booty off. I haven't started packing yet which isn't good. Especially since it's already after 7:30pm. I should get on that sooner rather than later.

This is a Striped Shirt that I got from TxSCC party. I chose burnt orange because, well, I live in Austin, Texas and burnt orange is the name of the game here. Plus, I like it. That helps. I hadn't worn it yet and thought today was the perfect day too. And, I like it! The shirt is super comfortable and I think it makes me look kind of slim. What girl doesn't like that? My outfit is a simple one, which is what I like most of the time (hence the name of the blog). I'm a no fuss kind of gal. Actually, that's a complete lie. Disregard the second part of that sentence.

Alright, my dears. Off to go pack I go. I'll see you when I get back from Ashley's wedding! PS. Go check out her bridal shower, it's amazing. Color me jealous! I'm sure her wedding will be just as gorgeous! I can't wait!

Too Expensive Tuesday

It's no secret I have a love affair with Anthropologie (sorry, babe). As I was browsing yesterday I came across a dress. Not just any dress though, an amazing, fantastic, superb, gorgeous dress. A dress that I will dream about for days and weeks to come. What? You want to see the dress, you say? If if you insist!

Fantastic, right? The print, the cut, the style. In the words of Rachel Zoe... I die. But wait! That's not it. Oh no, wait until you see the back:

Ohmygosh, you guys. As I imagine myself in this dress I'm wearing a sun hat, wedges and killer accessories. I'm strolling through a park arm in arm with Matt and we're headed to brunch with some VIPs. After brunch, we're going shopping at my favorite place, Anthropologie. Then, we're going to an art museum to browse before heading to dinner at some ritzy place with $20 cocktails.

But, this is all a dream. Unless this dress is knocked down a significant amount and I can talk my sweet, loving husband into letting me buy it... it will never be mine. Why, you ask? Well, Too Expensive Tuesday. My dream dress is $268.

Does anyone else obsess over pieces they can't afford? I can't be the only one...

*Note: Matthew, please do not think that I am trying to say you need to buy me this dress or feel bad about not being able to afford it in our current financial situation because of us trying to pay off MY student loans and the very small amount left on your car. In fact, you're a saint for contributing money to my student loans. Besides, $268 is way. too. much for a dress. Though I can't promise that I wouldn't buy it if I found $2k on the ground tomorrow. Love you!

May Day! May Day!

Shirt: Gap, Pants: Gap, Necklace: Mother, Shoes: Kelly & Katie

Yesterday was May first. Holy cow! I can't believe we are in month 5 already. It was also May Day... the day where you put flowers on random people's doorsteps, ring the doorbell and run. At least I think that's what you're supposed to do. I'm not sure I ever actually do it, so I may have the entire thing wrong. Oh well. Matt and I went to church yesterday and had a lovely time. There was a community lunch and it was so great to be able to meet more people there. Post church, we came home and hung out until I went to work. How was that, you ask? Busy.

I love these pants. The color is so fun and they are super comfy. I was kind of in a hurry and grabbed the first shirt I saw hanging in the closet. That happened to be this lovely thing. The one problem with it though is that I can't lift my arms very high in it. I think it's a small price to pay, plus, I have Matt to grab things for me, so all is well.

When this post goes up, I'll be at work. As I said last night, wish me luck!

Sister Date

Top: Anthropologie, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Kelly & Katie, Necklace: Gran's Closet, Watch: Fossil

Yesterday Bailey and I had a sister date. It consisted of Red Robin, Bailey having 4 (or 5) freckled lemonades and good conversation. We were supposed to go see a movie, but that didn't happen. Well, technically I did watch a movie, but it was at my grandmother's house on the couch. I'm not sure that counts...

I wore this top in our engagement photos many moons ago. It's a cute top, girly, a fun color and relatively flattering. I'll keep it. And I have a Blow Pop. It was on my floor and I felt like having one... though it wasn't as good as they were when I was 10. I don't know what happened in the past 14 years to them, but they better backtrack. I wore jeans because I thought we were going to go see a movie and movie theaters = cold. Though I'm glad I did wear them because ohmygosh Red Robin was freezing. Speaking of Red Robin, I don't think the one we go to here is as good as the ones in California. Seriously. It's just not the same.

Anyway, my alarm clock is set for 4:30am, so I best be going. I have a full 9.5 hours at Rudy's and 4 hours at Aqua-Tots. Wish me luck.
